Laura + Dragos | Mogosoaia, Romania
I got to spend more time with Laura and Dragos than almost any other couple this year. We exchanged quite a few planning emails before the wedding, we did an engagement shoot and a wedding guestbook together and we met after their wedding for a photo shoot in Bulgaria. Having so much time with a couple doesn’t happen often, but when it does, and when it happens with a couple I click with, it’s usually a big win for everyone involved. It means a greater variety of images, more opportunities to build trust, flexibility in case of unforeseen factors (like bad weather) and, with fewer time constraints, everything becomes more relaxed.
Laura and Dragos have known each other for quite some time and they’re both very practical, down-to-earth people. Maybe by virtue of her job, Laura is an uber-planner with a keen eye for detail and because I’m…well… quirky when it comes to pre-wedding planning, I felt we were on the same page throughout. I saw Laura and Dragos’ practical side in the way they organised and planned the wedding at Mogosoaia: they knew when the sun would set and planned their schedule accordingly, they minimised the amount of useless movement between locations by having the ceremony and reception in one place etc. With that in mind, I was surprised to see Laura in a bit of a time crunch just before the ceremony, but in the end it all worked out :)
Another thing that impressed me (and it’s the first time it’s happened to me at a wedding) was a thank you board for all the vendors they had worked with for their wedding. It doesn’t happen often, and it’s unrealistic to expect that, as a wedding photographer I will become best friends with all my couples, but it makes a day at the office much more enjoyable when you know the couples you share the day with value your work.
Laura, Dragos, thank you very much for trusting me!
“Choosing Vlad was one of the great things we’ve done during organising our wedding. Having the right photographer was one of the most important things as, next to nice memories, images are what remains with time passing. I started with choosing from 11 photographers which I liked but after the face to face meeting with Vlad, we took the decision in an instance. This was reinforced by an email received from him the very next day capturing all the details discussed within a 2 hours meeting (in which he took no notes!).
We decided to have a photo shoot before the wedding in a lavender field to use the pictures as part of a guest book for the “big day”. That was the day we realized Vlad is not just a wedding supplier but a friend, a nice person that we felt very comfortable with, who was able to capture the natural feelings without giving us the impression of being in front of the camera.
We knew since than that everything was going to be perfect but even so, our expectations were every time exceeded by Vlad.
The feeling continued during the wedding day: Vlad was everywhere and nowhere: he captured all the moments during the ceremony and the party at the same time being very discrete. The result was: extraordinary photos.
All in all, we really loved working with him and after a complex cooperation with him (2 photo sessions, civil and religious ceremonies, the wedding, albums) all I told him is that we can’t wait for the next experience together and that he should book some time in the following years for a maternity photo session and a christening event. :)”
